Stephanie Celiberti is the Historic Site Administrator of President James Buchanan’s Wheatland at LancasterHistory. She has held this position since 2019.

Under Stephanie’s leadership, she oversees the operations and stewardship of Wheatland, including the care and management of the collection and the creation of programming and historic house exhibition. In addition, she conducts outreach efforts to bring the history and lessons of President James Buchanan to local community centers via lectures and curates exhibitions related to the presidency of James Buchanan at LancasterHistory’s Museum and Research Center, such as Building Bridges: The First Japanese Embassy to the United States.

Throughout her stewardship of President Buchanan’s home, Stephanie has conducted research that has expanded an understanding of Wheatland, the people who lived and worked there, Buchanan’s presidency on the brink of the American Civil War, and foreign relations during Buchanan’s political career. She has written on a variety of themes pertaining to mid-19th century social and political history and has worked on numerous accessibility projects including the James Buchanan Online Presidential Library and filmed tours of the second floor for visitors who opt not to use the stairs.

She earned a B.A. in History and English with a minor in Theology at Alvernia University and a Graduate Certificate in Collections Management and Care at George Washington University.
